Mean Girls vs Clueless: The Best Girly Comedy Film?
Comedy/Drama
Mean Girls
Cady Heron is a hit with The Plastics, the A-list girl clique at her new school, until she makes the mistake of falling for Aaron Samuels, the ex-boyfriend of alpha Plastic Regina George.
Comedy/Romance
Clueless
A rich high school student tries to boost a new pupil's popularity, only to have the plan backfire on her — inspired by Jane Austen's Emma.
Our Verdict
Mean Girls is the sharper film — Tina Fey's script has more precision and the social commentary bites harder. Clueless is the warmer film — Alicia Silverstone's Cher is genuinely lovable rather than merely sympathetic. Both are essential feminist comedies. Mean Girls is the better movie; Clueless is the better feel-good experience.
